Destiny’s Cryptarch-fixing patch goes live this week

Destiny‘s 1.0.2 patch goes live “next week” — which we’re taking to mean this week. Pesky weekends. Before you ask, it doesn’t bring the loot cave back.

Thankfully, the patch does fix one of the biggest disappointments with the game: that stingy Cryptarch.

With the patch, Engrams will only be decoded into items at or above their original quality, meaning the Cryptarch won’t make Rares into Uncommon items anymore.

Sadly, it’s not worth holding onto Legendary Engrams until the patch comes out; the patch only applies to Engrams dropped after its release. Bungie has also advised that said Engrams will automatically be downgraded to Rare ones, post-patch.

Are you still playing Destiny? How do you rate your experience?
