Destiny 2’s Menagerie is a new 6-player matchmade activity

Destiny 2 will add a six-player matchmade activity called The Menagerie next month as part of its Season of Opulence, developer Bungie has confirmed.

The event is likely to be similar to the Black Armory Forges of Season of the Forge or The Reckoning as part of Season of the Drifter. While it’s not yet been confirmed, the event is likely to be a wave-based affair that culminates with a final boss. Bungie has confirmed the boss aspect of the event, and also that bosses will be added and rotated in the weeks that follow Season of Opulence’s launch.

Perhaps best yet, the Menagerie will offer the chance for a player to select specific rewards.

“Players who best the Menagerie, a new six player matchmade activity, will use the Chalice to create an offering of runes in exchange for the specific weapons and armor that they seek,” Bungie said in an update. “Over time, Guardians will be able to upgrade the Chalice to acquire more plentiful and powerful rewards.”

Season of Opulence launches 5 June and comes complete with a new Raid called Crown of Sorrows. The Season ups the game’s Power cap to 750.

Destiny 2 is available on Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4. A content roadmap is below alongside a trailer for Season of Opulence itself.
