Destiny 2 PC beta will take place in late August; see minimum and recommended specs here

Details of Destiny 2′s PC beta have now been made available by Bungie and Activision Blizzard.

Let’s break it down.

Start and end dates

The PC beta begins on 28 August for those who’ve pre-ordered, followed by an open beta starting 29 August.

The affair concludes on 31 August.

There’s no word yet on whether or not PC players will get a one-hour window to check out The Farm social space.

Minimum specs

  • Intel Core i3-3250 or AMD FX-4350 CPU
  • GeForce GTX 660 2GB or Radeon HD 7850 2GB graphics card
  • 6GB RAM

Recommended specs

  • Intel Core i5-2400 or an AMD Ryzen R5 1600X
  • GeForce GTX 970 or Radeon R9 390 graphics card
  • 8GB RAM

Bungie advised it used an Intel i7-7700K CPU, Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080Ti graphics card and 11GB to demonstrate the game.

The specs above apply to the beta only and may change for the main game.

Destiny 2 heads to Xbox One and PS4 on 6 September, followed by a release on Windows PC on 24 October.
