Destiny 2 Lightfall preload on PS5 locking players out

Want to play? Don't update!

Destiny 2 Lightfall preloading on PS5 has the potential to lock players out before the content actually becomes available, developer Bungie has advised.

We’re currently investigating an issue where the preload of Lightfall has been pushed out early in some regions,” Bungie said via Twitter.

“We recommend players pause this download until February 27, 9 AM PST (-8 UTC) to continue playing the live game,” Bungie continued.

In an update, Bungie said those impacted will have to reinstall Destiny 2 if they’ve been impacted by the early preload. Impacted players have suggested that installing the PS4 version of the game might be the best way to go as the download’s smaller and can be used until the PS5 version can once again be used (aka when Lightfall is actually released and available).

Destiny 2 is available now on Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS4 and PS5. Lightfall will be introduced into the game from 1 March 2023 here in Australia.
