Destiny 2 beta: Here’s what to expect

Bungie and Activision today detailed the upcoming Destiny 2 closed, then open, beta.

The beta is first available to those who’ve pre-ordered the game. Those on PS4 can expect to play from 18 July, while those on Xbox One play from 19 July. From 21 July, the beta opens up to all players on both platforms.

The beta includes the game’s opening campaign mission (Homecoming), a co-op Strike (The Inverted Spire) and PvP modes Countdown and Control. Don’t forget that PvP in Destiny 2 opts for a 4v4 approach rather than 6v6.

Character subclasses include the Dawnblade Warlock, Arcstrider Hunter and Sentinel Titan.

Moreover, the game’s new social space, The Farm, will be available for one hour only on the beta’s last day. You can check it out between 3.00 – 4.00 am AEST on Monday, 24 July.

Destiny 2 heads to Xbox One and PS4 on 6 September, followed by a release on Windows PC on 24 October. A beta is also planned for PC.
