Football fans take note: despelote is a football-focused action adventure game coming in early 2024.
“despelote is a game rooted in the culture of Ecuador and the time and place the events of the game take place in,” reads a press release.
“All voice acting in despelote is performed in Spanish, with translated subtitles, and ambient sound effects throughout the world that have been recorded by the team in Ecuador,” it continued. “The distinctive look of the game also comes from the real photos taken by the team during their time in Quito that have been used as textures for buildings and more.”

Just like Goodbye Volcano High, despelote is an official selection of the 2023 Tribeca Festival.
Expect despelote on Windows PC, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X and PS5 in early 2024.
