Death Stranding: Creator Hideo Kojima explains what it is to ‘strand’

Speaking at Tokyo Game Show, Death Stranding creator Hideo Kojima has explained more about the titular stranding.

“Strand, the word in psychological terms, means twisted threads and bonds,” Kojima said (via translator), according to GamesRadar.

“This is stranding. In Death Stranding there is story game and world view; it’s all connected by strand,” Kojima said, adding that, “something from another world [is] stranding in our world.”

Clear as mud, right?

The game’s logo, shown above, seems to focus on strand connections — the substance that appears to be dripping off each letter of the game’s title is actually just a cord.
