Dead by Daylight to add 2v8 Resident Evil mode

It'll give you S.T.A.R.S.

Dead by Daylight‘s popular 2v8 mode will soon include licensed content from Resident Evil, Behaviour Interactive and Capcom have recently announced.

Originally debuting in mid-2024, the asymmetrical horror game’s 2v8 mode — pitting 2 killers against 8 survivors — only allows for approved characters; this time around, Capcom’s Resident Evil will be included.

The Raccoon City Police Department map will be used in this new endeavour, and chests will contain a unified antidote that can cure infections caused by either killer, Wesker or Nemesis.

Moreover, a new herb mechanic will be in play — green herbs found on the map can heal survivors, while yellow herbs can clear a hook state. Killers, of course, are allowed to destroy the herbs, also gaining a temporary speed increase for doing so.

New skins will also be available — they include Wesker’s Resident Evil 4 Remake look, Nemesis’ original Resident Evil 3 look, and new outfits for Ada, Leon, and Jill. Legion will also receive a Hunk legendary skin as part of this too.

Expect 2v8 Resident Evil within Dead by Daylight from 11 February here in Australia.

Dead by Daylight is currently available on Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS4, PS5, and Switch; it’s also available through Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus Extras.
