Dead by Daylight adds D&D in June, Castlevania in August

It's a good time for brand synergy.

Dead by Daylight will add iconic characters from Dungeons and Dragons and Castlevania in June and August respectively, developer Behaviour Interactive has recently confirmed.

The Dungeons and Dragons crossover will focus on Vecna — that’s the D&D version and not the Stranger Things version, of course — from 3 June. The build, which also adds a survivor that can be played as an elf female or human male, is already live on the game’s Public Test server.

The D&D themed expansion also adds a new map in the form of — yep, you guessed it — a dungeon.

As for the Castlevania expansion, not much is known at present, though it’s expected in August.

Behaviour also detailed a new 2v8 mode in which two killers will team up to square off against 8 total survivors. In this mode, perks will be removed in place of a class-based system, and hooks are also done away with in favour of a three-strike cage. That means if you get downed three times, you’re out of the game.

Update [7 August 2024]: The Castlevania update heads to Dead by Daylight on 27 August, adding both Dracula (killer) and Trevor Belmont (survivor) to the game.

Dracula will be able to take on three forms: Vampire, Wolf, and Bat. Talk about OP?

Dead by Daylight is currently available on Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS4, PS5, and Switch; it’s also available through Xbox Game Pass.
