DCeased is bringing zombies to the DC Universe

Injustice writer Tom Taylor is bringing zombies into the DC Universe in a big way in the upcoming DCeased.

A comic series set outside the prime DC Universe continuity, DCeased looks to be DC’s version of Marvel Zombies, a popular ‘what if’ series that basically had the undead destroying everything in sight.

“The idea originated with editor Ben Abernathy,” Taylor told IGN. “He had an idea to do a horror/zombie tale at DC, and hit me up to ask if I’d like to be involved. At the time I was pretty busy, but over the next few days, my mind was racing. I couldn’t stop thinking of new and terrible ways to torture my [favourite] heroes in ways that made Injustice look tame by comparison.”

DC’s zombies will be as high tech as the Justice League’s Cyborg; the villainous Darkseid will infect the world with a techno-organic virus that’s a little something out of Stephen King’s Cell.

The special six-issue series will have its first issue available in early May. You can head over to IGN for a first sneak-peak.
