Daymare 1998 console release date set for April 2020

The Daymare 1998 console release date has been set for April 2020, fittingly releasing in the same month as Capcom’s Resident Evil 3 Remake.

Daymare 1998 started off life as a Resident Evil 2 fan project named Resident Evil 2 Reborn. It was sadly announced in July 2015, just one month before Capcom confirmed its plans to release its own Resident Evil 2 Remake. As you’d likely expect, the fan project was asked to be shut down as a result.

Rather than shutter the project entirely, developer Invader Games decided to rework the game using its own plot, characters and ideas, and that’s led to Daymare. You can check it out in the trailer below.

Already available on Windows PC via Steam, Daymare 1998 heads to Xbox One and PS4 on 28 April. Capcom’s Resident Evil 3 heads to all those platforms on 3 April.
