Dark Souls heading to Xbox One backwards compatibility; offered free with Dark Souls III

The Australian Xbox Games Store has announced that Dark Souls is heading to the Xbox One backwards compatibility program. Moreover, the Xbox 360 title will be offered as a freebie to those that pre-order Dark Souls III on Xbox One.

The listing, since removed, suggests that those who pre-order Dark Souls III will receive a code for Dark Souls within 10 days.

The backwards compatible title has not been officially confirmed by Microsoft or Bandai Namco.

We’ll have more on this as it develops.
