Dark and Deep is a horror game that takes place in a podcast

What a twist!

Dark and Deep is a first-person cosmic horror game with a twist: it’s driven through an in-world “unhinged conspiracy podcast”.

“You play as Samuel Judge, a fan of the mysterious conspiracy podcast, ‘Dark and Deep’. Plunged into a dark and dangerous landscape, you must survive… and you are not alone,” reads the title’s description.

“Listen to the podcast. Experience the unravelling as your favourite conspiracy podcast becomes too close to home,” it continues. “Become embroiled in a dramatic tale of intrigue and betrayal where the real and surreal collide.”

The brainchild of Walter Woods, Dark and Deep comes from a small team of only four. It’s also heavily inspired by the artwork of Gustave Doré .

You can get a taste of what to expect from Dark and Deep above. You can also grab a demo from its Steam page.

Expect Dark and Deep on Windows PC via Steam from tomorrow, 14 August, here in Australia.
