Current-gen Witcher 3 coming late 2022, says CD Projekt Red

On-again.

The on-again, off-again current-gen release of The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt is very much on-again, now expected in late 2022 according to CD Projekt Red.

Planned as a free update on Xbox Series S & X and PS5 for those who already own the game on Xbox One and PS5, the next-gen update was first put in the hands of Saber Interactive before CD Projekt Red advised it took the work back in-house. The update was planned for a 2021 release before CD Projekt’s update, which effectively delayed the work indefinitely.

Today, CDPR took to Twitter in celebration of the game’s seventh anniversary, saying “we’re delighted to share that the Next Gen version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is planned to release in Q4 2022.”

We’ll let you know when a specific release date is confirmed.

The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt is currently available on Windows PC, Xbox One, PS4 and Switch.
