Cuphead is not heading to PS4, according to its developers

Cuphead will not be heading to PS4, developer Studio MDHR recently confirmed.

A member of the development team clarified Cuphead‘s exclusivity after a member of NeoGAF asked if the game was a “100% lifetime PC/Microsoft exclusive”.

“Yes, this Cuphead game is exclusive to Xbox and PC (with Steam and Win10 versions at launch and a GoG release likely shortly after),” Studio MDHR’s Teeth replied. “There will likely be a Mac version down the road and possibly a Linux version beyond that (unless we lose our houses or whatever).”

All’s not lost — the emphasis in the statement above suggests that while this game isn’t headed to PS4, it doesn’t mean a multiplatform sequel is out of the question.

“We own the Cuphead IP,” Teeth stressed.

Cuphead (finally) heads to Windows PC and Xbox One on 29 September.
