Crytek remains afloat by securing a “huge” new licensing deal

Crytek, the studio behind Crysis and Ryse: Son of Rome has revealed it’s working on a “huge” licensing deal with an as-yet unannounced partner.

Financial troubles in 2014 meant Crytek was forced to dissolve its Crytek UK studio. Said studio was working on Homefront: The Revolution at the time.

In conversation with Develop, Crytek’s Faruk Yerli and Jens Schaefer teased the new partnership.

“A lot of people are under the impression we had to find a new investor or something, but that wasn’t the case. We made a licensing deal,” Schaefer said.

Which existing IP do you think Crytek is now working on?
