Cricket 22 delayed to December because of Tim Paine

Patience, cricket fans.

Cricket 22 has been delayed until 2 December, developer Big Ant has today confirmed.

“Factors beyond our control have meant that we need to update the game’s cover art, other visuals and team lists,” a statement from the developer begins.

Big Ant is no doubt referring to updates required as a result of a sexting scandal surrounding (former) cover star Tim Paine, who has stepped down as the Australian Test captain as a result of allegations.

“There was a critical day 1 patch that players will need to enjoy the full Cricket 22 experience that has consequently needed to be revoked,” the update from Big Ant continues. “The new patch won’t be ready for release until December 2.”

Cricket 22 heads to Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S & X, PS4 and PS5 from 2 December, one week later than its originaly release.
