Control Xbox Game Pass inclusion teased by Microsoft

But will it be the Ultimate Edition, pissing off those who've already bought it?

Control might be added to Xbox Game Pass in December 2020, if a new tease from Microsoft is being interpreted correctly.

The Xbox Game Pass Twitter account recently shared an “email” from the fictional head of department, Melissa McGamepass. In it, she writes that “we even included [redacted], which our fans won’t stop mentioning (that’s why I sent you that .gif with the sinister red light)”.

The email also mentions the gigantic boost given to Xbox Game Pass in the form of EA Play last month.

Almost one year ago to the day, Xbox head Phil Spencer mistakenly mentioned that Control would be added to Xbox Game Pass; developer Remedy was quick to shoot the rumour down… though what a difference a year can make? We’ll keep you posted as we learn more.

If Control does end up on Microsoft’s game subscription service, it’ll be interesting to see whether or not it’s Control‘s base game or the recently released Control Ultimate Edition, which adds a free current-gen upgrade to the mix. Considering the upgrade will cost you, it’s likely it won’t be featured for a single, monthly fee.

Control is currently available on Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4; Control Ultimate Edition heads to Xbox Series S & X and PS5 in 2021.
