Control 2 confirmed as an “action RPG” as Control heads to Mac

Lots going on in the Remedy Connected Universe.

Big news today for Control fans — and future Control fans, really — as Remedy has today confirmed that Control 2 will be an “action RPG”, and that the original Control will head to Mac.

As part of Remedy’s Capital Markets Day 2024, the developer (and now publisher) made a number of relevent reveals. In terms of Control, the title’s Ultimate Edition will launch on (presumably M1 chip and higher) Mac devices from 12 February 2025. You can pre-order here for $39.95 USD.

Control will receive a free update in early 2025, unlocking some previously released content,” Remedy also disclosed, though it’s unclear what the content entails.

Remedy also said that Control 2 will be an “action RPG”, which really shouldn’t surprise many. Finally, Remedy confirmed that “Alan Wake 2 has sold over 1.8 units” — but as we’ve continually said, that’s still not enough. Go buy it!

Control is currently available on Windows PC, Xbox One, and PS4. Control Ultimate Edition is already on Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, and PS5, and heads to Mac on 12 February 2025.
