Civilization 7 release date set for 11 February 2025

Mark your calendars.

The Civilization 7 release date has now been set for 11 February 2025 on Windows PC, Mac, Linux, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS4, PS5, and Switch.

The title will support both cross-play and cross-progression, 2K and Firaxis have also confirmed.

“In Sid Meier’s Civilization VII, your strategic decisions shape the unique cultural lineage of your evolving empire,” 2K said in a press release. “Rule as one of many legendary leaders from throughout history and steer the course of your story by choosing a new civilisation to represent your empire in each Age of human advancement.”

A new live-action trailer, above, is narrated by the narrator of the game proper, Game of Thrones‘ Gwendoline Christie.

“We’re incredibly excited to take players on a new type of journey through history in Sid Meier’s Civilization VII,” stated Ed Beach, Creative Director at Firaxis Games. “With the introduction of revolutionary new features such as Ages, the ability to select leaders and civilisations independently to mix and match gameplay bonuses, a beautiful new art style and more, Sid Meier’s Civilization VII promises to be true to our goal of being the ultimate historical strategy game.”

Expect Civilization 7 from 11 February 2025 on Windows PC, Mac, Linux, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS4, PS5, and Switch.
