Chiefs become the League of Legends’ Ocean Pro League Split 1 champions

Chiefs have been crowned the League of Legends’ Oceanic Pro League (OPL) Split 1 Champions after an intense 5-game series against Legacy earlier in the week.

The team took the early lead, 2-0 in the best of 5 series, only to have Legacy tie it all up 2-2. Chiefs were victorious in the end, taking the final game.

“I had to go hard and close that game 5 quick since I have an exam in 10 hours,” said law student Derek “Raydere” Trang from the Chiefs on Twitter straight after last game.

“It’s was real struggle for us this split but we managed to claw our way back to the top. We now look to improve on our wildcard performance from last year,” added Bryce “EGym” Paule, Chiefs Support.

Chiefs now head to Mexico City to represent Oceania in the International Wild Card Invitational (IWCI) from April 17-24. Good luck to them!
