CG Spectrum launches online advanced diploma of games programming

CG Spectrum has announced its new, fully accredited Advanced Diploma of Screen and Media specialising in Games Programming.

The course curriculum has been co-written by Melbourne’s Matt Rowland (League of Geeks, Armello), alongside Tony Coculuzzi (Studio MDHR, Cuphead) and kicks off on 5 September.

The online-based advanced diploma will use Unity as its core and is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of programming. The program includes guidance from mentors alongside live feedback sessions where instructors will assist on student submissions.

“Working with CG Spectrum to build this course is refreshing, as we all have the same primary concern – the student experience,” said Department Head Michelle Osborne. “Everyone is a current and practicing industry pro, and together we’ve made something really exciting by focusing on what skills are needed to immediately start making and releasing games.”

A launch event held on 25 August will offer a panel titled, “Getting into games: a primer on programming”. It will be led by course designers and kicks off at 6.30 pm AEST. For more information on the course, head here; to register interest for the launch panel, head here.
