Cell Sword “a love letter to 6DoF” games like Descent, coming next month

And from a Melbourne-based dev, no less!

Cell Sword is the latest from Melbourne-based developer Luke Miller and is described as “a love letter to the six-degrees-of-freedom (6DoF) genre of games”.

Cell Sword is a sci-fi adventure set inside the human body and a love letter to the six-degrees-of-freedom (6DoF) genre of games including Descent, Forsaken and Desecrators,” a media release states. “The full game is an epic single player campaign and story that takes place over 12 levels.”

You can get a taste of what to expect below.

Cell Sword also boasts 5 difficulty levels, remappable controls, the ability to toggle between cockpit and third-person views, and more.

Priced at $7.99 USD, Cell Sword heads to Windows PC via Steam and itch.io sometime from 18 June 2025.
