CD Projekt Red uses PAX AUS to discuss Cyberpunk 2077’s quest system

During a panel at PAX AUS this past weekend, CD Projekt Red’s Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz got to talk Cyberpunk 2077.

Tomaszkiewicz, the game’s Principal Narrative Designer, focused on Cyberpunk‘s quest system, saying it’ll be like The Witcher 3 even though the games are very different.

“Definitely, we want to keep the things that were good about it [the quest design system] for Cyberpunk, and basically we don’t want to change things that were working properly,” Tomaszkiewicz, Principal Narrative Designer, said. “So we will stick to the guidelines that were working.

“I think there are things that we could have done better, so we will adjust it to Cyberpunk’s requirements. Also, it’s a comopletely different game, It’s obviously an RPG as well, but it has totally different systems. We need to focus on making the gameplay fun in different ways than sword fighting is.

“So I think we will have to adjust, but like I said, we will try to keep all the good things that we did on The Witcher.”

We’ll have more with Tomaszkiewicz later in the week, as spent some time at PAX AUS discussing The Witcher 3‘s world.
