CD Projekt Red confirms Cyberpunk 2077 sequel, new Witcher games

The dev has its work cut out for it.

CD Projekt Red has shared a long-term roadmap that contains a number of new Cyberpunk and Witcher titles.

While CD Projekt Red will drive the new titles, some will be developed by third-parties.

First, a Cyberpunk 2077 sequel will “further develop the potential” of CDPR’s newest franchise. Codenamed Orion, the title is being developed by CD Projekt Red teams in both Boston, USA and Vancouver, Canada.

On The Witcher front, a new trilogy will be released over a six-year period. We already know of the first of the three titles, a game being developed in Unreal Engine and featuring the Lynx School. That first title is codenamed Polaris.

Beyond the trilogy, two additional Witcher games will be developed by external studios; one is codenamed Sirius and from The Molasses Flood (The Flame and the Flood) and the other codenamed Canis Majoris, another title being built in Unreal Engine 5.

Finally, CD Projekt Red also detailed a game codenamed Hadar, which is described as a new IP. Conceptual work on the project started last year, so the game itself isn’t likely for a number of years.

We’ll update you on the status of all these games as we learn more about them.
