Capcom shutting down RE:Verse in June

The celebratory game has done just that, says the publisher.

Capcom will shut down multiplayer shooter RE:Verse on 29 June here in Australia, it’s recently declared.

The shutdown will occur at 6.00 pm AEST on 29 June, Capcom confirmed. In the meantime, it will be removed from online storefronts from 3 March.

Resident Evil Re:Verse was developed in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Resident Evil series, and your overwhelming support for the game has far exceeded our expectations since the time of its release,” Capcom said.

“Now that we’ve reached a new turning point for the series, we feel that Resident Evil Re:Verse has served its original, celebratory purpose admirably,” Capcom continued. “We are incredibly grateful for your warm support for Resident Evil Re:Verse, and we deeply apologise for bringing you this disappointing news.”

RE:Verse was meant to release alongside Resident Evil Village but was delayed multiple times, eventually coming out alongside the title’s Winters Expansion DLC.

In other Resident Evil news, it will soon be part of Dead by Daylight‘s 2v8 experience, offering a host of new skins for its licensed characters.

RE:Verse and Resident Evil Village are current available on Windows PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X.
