Capcom Europe preparing for a substantial round of layoffs

Reports by MCV and GamesIndustry International say that Capcom Europe is preparing to layoff more than half of its staff after another restructuring process.

Both outlets report that the layoffs faced by Capcom’s European branch are similar to those at their American office this past July.

American layoffs saw several high-profile staffers lose their jobs, including Senior VP of Planning and Business Development, Christian Svensson.

Capcom issued the following statement on the matter: “Following a restructure at its US operation, Capcom’s European organization is currently evaluating its structure to ensure it is in the best position to take advantage of the changing market conditions the industry is facing.”

It’s unknown how many of Capcom’s approximated 2,480 global employees are based out of Europe.
