Capcom customer info might have been compromised in cyberattack

A recent ransomware cyberattack means that some Capcom customer information may have been compromised, the publisher has declared.

The attack, which took place on 2 November, has potentially compromised the personal information of a “maximum of approx. 350,000 items” including names, addresses, phone numbers, birthdates, gender information and email addresses of customers.

On Capcom’s side, the company has confirmed that personal information of employees past and present — including HR information — may have been compromised alongside sales reports and other financial information. Shareholders’ identification numbers have also been compromised.

Capcom has advised customers to get in contact if they’d like to “inquire about personal information that has potentially been compromised”. You can find support contacts here.
