Capcom confirms it’s “re-activating dormant IPs”

Sooooo Dino Crisis next?

Fresh off announcements of an Okami sequel and a new Onimusha game at The Game Awards, Capcom has confirmed it is “focusing on re-activating dormant IPs”.

“In addition to regularly releasing major new titles each year, Capcom is focusing on re-activating dormant IPs that haven’t had a new title launch recently,” a press release from the publisher reads.

“The company is working to further enhance corporate value by leveraging its rich library of content, which includes reviving past IPs like [Okami and Onimusha], in order to continuously produce highly efficient, high-quality titles.”

We can already see Dino Crisis fans salivating, fresh off news that the original PlayStation title is now available as a standalone purchase on PS4 and PS5.

Off the top of our head, other dormant franchises that could use a good revival include Lost Planet, Darkstalkers and even Mega Man.
