Capcom announces Resident Evil spin-off Umbrella Corps on PS4, PC

Capcom has used the Tokyo Game Show to confirm Resident Evil spin-off Umbrella Corps.

The publisher describes the title as “a new fast paced third person shooter set in the Resident Evil universe.”

“The competitive online game will feature quick, intense matches in compact battle zones themed from historic Resident Evil environments,” Capcom continued. “Umbrella Corps will feature high-intensity team-based matches where players can compete online in a variety of unique close quarter battle modes. Each adrenaline-fueled match will be short and brutal and is designed for quick and engaging play. The game will feature an analog aim and cover system, allowing for more precise control when firing from cover.”

One Life Deathmatch mode provides one life to each player; death means no chance to respawn, and the need to wait until the next round to play again. The mode is being shown at TGS in a 3v3 setup.

Umbrella Corps is scheduled for an early 2016 release on PS4 and Windows PC and is priced at $29.99 USD.
