Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 release date set for 28 October

And here's some real-world drone footage to celebrate.

The Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 release date has been set for 28 October, Activision Blizzard and Infinity Ward have today revealed.

The big announcement is a showcase of the game’s recently released logo and some real-world drone footage. To be clear, there’s no gameplay as part of it.

“Task Force 141 makes its massive return with a global squad of iconic veterans,” Activision Blizzard said in a description posted alongside the reveal.

A direct sequel to the Modern Warfare remake, players can look forward to the return of Operators including Captain John Price, Simon ‘Ghost’ Riley, John ‘Soap’ MacTavish and Kyle ‘Gaz’ Garrick. A new character, Mexican Special Forces Colonel Alejandro Vargas, will also feature.

You can check out the announcement below.

Expect Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 on Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS4 and PS5 from 28 October.
