Call of Duty Warzone “Border War” skin renamed

The Call of Duty Warzone “Border War” skin has been renamed after criticism it promoted anti-immigration sentiment.

As part of the recent patch, the skin has been renamed to “Home on the Range”. Its flavour text has also been amended, now reading, “Play along with the deer and the antelope with the Home on the Range D-Day operator skin” instead of the original text, “show them the error of their ways and make them pay with D-Day’s Border War operator skin.”

The patch has also addressed an issue in which players could pick up weapons they dropped before the infil sequence and also fixes a Rytex AMR firing issue alongside smaller bug fixes.

Recently, Warzone removed an “OK” gesture after criticism it was closely connected to the white supremacist movement. In early June, developer Infinity Ward and publisher Activision Blizzard said, “There is no place for racist content in our game.”

Call of Duty Warzone is a free-to-play battle royale available on Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4.
