Call of Duty Modern Warfare Season 1 drops new, free content

Call of Duty Modern Warfare Season One will offer up a host of new, free maps and weapons in early December, Activision and Infinity Ward have confirmed.

From 3 December (likely 4 December in Australia), three classic multiplayer maps will be added in the form of Crash, Vacant and Shipment, all maps that first appeared in the original Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. They’re accompanied by two new Gunfight maps called Cargo and Atrium alongside a new Ground War map called Port.

Infinity Ward promised “additional multiplayer maps as Season 1 progresses.”

New modes will be offered too; first, Reinforce is a new multiplayer mode that combines Dom and S&D elements. Infected is another new multiplayer mode that plays like you’d imagine it would. Finally, On-Site Procurement is a Gunfight mode where players begin with their firsts, gathering equipment as the match progresses. The new modes will be joined by a number of new Spec-Ops experiences.

In terms of weaponry, players can expect the RAM-7 Assault Rifle and the Holger-26 LMG.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is currently available on Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4.
