Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered gets female soldiers, microtransactions in multiplayer

Updates to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered today bring female soldiers and microtransactions to multiplayer alongside new maps and modes.

Six new maps bring the game’s total multiplayer offerings up to sixteen, the full amount of maps included in the original title. Bloc, Countdown, Pipeline, Showdown, Strike and Wet Work are now available for play.

New modes include Gun Game and Hardpoint, and have been added alongside to holiday-themed weapon camos: Ugly Sweater and Gift Wrap.

Microtransactions are in the form of Supply Drops, essentially random loot drops. They can be earned or purchased with Call of Duty points or Depot Credits.

Finally, female soldiers are now available to select inside multiplayer.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered is available on Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4, bundled with Infinity Ward’s newest release, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.
