Bruce Campbell confirms new Evil Dead movie

Bruce Campbell has confirmed another Evil Dead movie is in the works, titled Evil Dead Now.

“It’s called Evil Dead Now,” Campbell told Empire, also confirming that it will be written and directed by Lee Cronin.

While Campbell will help produce alongside original writer and director Sam Raimi, the pair won’t be directly involved.

“Sam [Raimi] handpicked Lee – he did a cool movie called The Hole In The Ground,” Campbell continued. “We’re going to get that sucker out as soon as practical.”

Campbell will not be starring as Ash; instead, the film will likely be a continuation of the storyline establised in the 2013 Evil Dead reboot, starring Jane Levy as Mia.

“From this point forward, they kind of have to stand on their own,” Campbell continued. “We just want to keep the series current. And the mantra, really, is that our heroes and heroines are just regular people. That’s what we’re going to continue.”

We’ll have more on Evil Dead Now as news is made available.
