Borderlands 3 is being “built specifically” for Xbox One, PS4

During a Take-Two financial call last night, 2K President Karl Slatoff said Borderlands 3 will skip Xbox 360 and PS3 as it’s being “built specifically for next-gen consoles.”

“Looking further ahead, we have robust long-term pipeline of titles in development, including ground-breaking new intellectual properties and new releases from our proven franchises,” Slatoff added. “For example, we can confirm that 2K and Gearbox Software will develop an all-new Borderlands game built specifically for next-gen consoles.”

Development in Borderlands 3 is still in its early stages. The next game to be released in the franchise is Borderlands: The Handsome Collection, bundling Borderlands 2 and The Pre-Sequel on current-gen consoles.
