Blizzard, Red Cross partner for PAX AUS blood drive

Blizzard and the Australian Red Cross Blood Service have partnered for a special blood drive that will take place over PAX AUS this weekend here in Melbourne.

“Blood Service staff will be distributing refreshments at the Diablo-sponsored Handheld Lounge (next to the main theatre) and roaming the show floor with teams of Diablo cosplayers, encouraging attendees to make an appointment to donate post-show,” Blizzard today advised.

Blood donation is incredibly important — 1 in 3 Aussies will need a transfusion in their lifetime; each donation of blood can save up to three lives.

“Attendees aged between 18 and 70 may be able to donate and are encouraged to register as blood donors to help the Blood Service continue to conduct its vital work,” Blizzard added. You can find out if you meet the Red Cross’ eligibility criteria here.

The partnership is also being used to promote Diablo 3‘s upcoming Nintendo Switch release.

If you’re not checking out PAX AUS, you can still donate by contacting the Blood Service at www.donateblood.com.au or calling 13 14 95.
