Bethesda @ E3: Quake Champions starts the show

Bethesda began its E3 2016 Showcase with Quake Champions.

id Software looks set to revive another old-school franchise with this upcoming release, triumphantly declaring, “Yes, Quake is back.”

Quake Champions was described as a competitive, arena-style first-person shooter. You know, like Quake.

The game is said to run fast — at 120Hz with fully unlocked framerates. id said the game’s designed to feature in professional competitive play, with leagues and tournaments expanding past Bethesda’s QuakeCon.

A broad range of characters is said to feature in the title, so it’s likely this’ll be another Hero-type shooter. More on Quake Champions will be shared in August.

The game looks to be PC only.
