A closed beta will be followed by an open one.

A set of Battlefield 2042 betas have been confirmed for early October, and we’ve all relevant times for you in Aussie timezones below.

First, a closed beta will be on offer to those who’ve pre-ordered the game (and EA Play/Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers) from 6 October. That beta will transition to an open one for all who’d like to play from 8 October.

A beta client will go up for download a day ahead of the closed beta.

Update: The start of Battlefield 2042‘s open beta was delayed by two hours yesterday evening, as developer DICE said it needed time for server maintenance. There’s no plans to extend the beta past its originally scheduled end time.

All timings are below.

  • Beta client download opens: 5.00 pm AEDT, 5 October
  • Closed beta begins: 6.00 pm AEDT, 6 October
  • Open beta begins: 8.00 pm AEDT, 8 October
  • Betas close: 6.00 pm AEDT, 10 October
