Battleborn shutting down, unplayable from January 2021

2K has begun the process of shutting down Battleborn entirely, with the game fully unplayable from January 2021.

Battleborn has been removed from digital storefronts, and we are now in the process of gradually sunsetting the game to focus our efforts and resources on other projects,” 2K today advised.

Key dates are as follows:

  • Today: Battleborn has been removed from all digital storefronts
  • 24 February 2020: Players will no longer be able to purchase Platinum in-game currency
  • January 2021: The game’s servers will go offline, rendering the game unplayable

Considering we didn’t think much of Battleborn at launch, this news will hardly impact anyone. Support for the title ended just fifteen months after it was released.

Battleborn launched in early May 2016, and is currently available on Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4.
