Bandai Namco becomes the first third-party publisher to support amiibo

Bandai Namco is set to become the first third-party publisher to support Nintendo’s amiibos.

They’ll do it via the upcoming title One Piece: Super Grand Battle! X.

Shonen Jump Magazine made the big revelation, reporting that amiibos will unlock Nintendo-themed costumes in the game.

Protagonist Luffy will get dressed as Mario, Link and company, depending on the amiibo used.

One Piece: Super Grand Battle! X is a Japan-only game that was released on 3DS last month.
