Ball X Pit gets three free content updates in 2026

Rejoice!

Ball x Pit, the indie hit from developer Kenny Sun, has promised three free content updates in 2026.

Timed for January, April, and July of next year, the updates promise new balls, evolutions, buildings, characters, and “more” (we’re hoping Achievements and Trophies, personally).

January will bring the “Regal” update, while April brings the “Shadow” update. Finally, July will see the “Naturalist” update. No further details on what we should expect were today offered in a press release from Sun and Devolver.

Are some of that new content teased or shown off in the new trailer below, which also celebrates over 1,000,000 units of Ball x Pit sold? Maybe. I’m too tired to parse things, to be very honest — so do me a favour and let us know in the comments, below.

The updates also mean we’ll have to update our Ball Evolutions guide, and our Passive Evolutions guide. The things we do for you!

Ball x Pit is available on Windows PC, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS5, Switch, also via Xbox Game Pass. A Nintendo Switch 2 release follows later this year. We reviewed it here.
