Avengers release date set by E3 2019 trailer

Avengers was shown off today at Square Enix’s E3 2019 press conference.

For those expecting the team to look like their MCU counterparts, we have news for you: they don’t. I mean, you can tell which hero is Captain America and all that, but don’t expect him to look like Chris Evans.

Today, we also learned Tony Stark is also voiced by Troy Baker, who is slowly becoming the only male voice actor in video games. And also because video games, Nolan North’s in it too.

Marvel’s Avengers begins at A-Day, where Captain America, Iron Man, the Hulk, Black Widow, and Thor are unveiling a hi-tech Avengers Headquarters in San Francisco — including the reveal of their own helicarrier powered by an experimental energy source,” Square Enix said of the title. “The celebration turns deadly when a catastrophic accident results in massive devastation. Blamed for the tragedy, the Avengers disband. Five years later, with all Super Heroes outlawed and the world in peril, the only hope is to reassemble Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.”

Moreover, it was confirmed that Avengers will feature early beta access and “unique benefits” on PS4. Gotta love platform-exclusive content, eh? You can try to register for PS4 beta access here.

On a brighter note, new content will be added into the game, for free, at regular intervals.

Avengers heads to Windows PC, Xbox One, PS4 and Stadia on 15 May 2020.
