Avengers’ microtransactions are in the form of new outfits

Marvel’s Avengers may not have loot boxes or pay-to-win mechanics but it certainly will have cosmetic microtransactions, it’s recently been revealed.

“There will be custom outfits that you can purchase in microtransactions,” Crystal Dynamics’ Shaun Escayg said in conversation with IGN.

“There are other aesthetic ways to customize your player card and your player experience, but there is nothing that affects the gameplay,” added Lead Combat Designer, Vincent Napoli.

It’s probably a good thing that additional costumes can be purchased as fans don’t seem to happy with the default appearance of many characters. Steve Rogers, Captain America, seems to be taking the brunt of fan backlash.

What do you think of the current designs of the Avengers’ roster? Are you unhappy about costumes, or more that the likes of Hawkeye don’t appear to be in the game? Sound off in the comments area, below.

Developed by Crystal Dynamics & Eidos Montreal and published by Square Enix, Avengers heads to Windows PC, Xbox One, PS4 and Stadia on 15 May 2020.
