Aussie pricing heads to Steam tomorrow

Australian pricing will head to Steam tomorrow, fellow Aussies — prepare yourselves.

The change has been coming for a while now, and finally kicks into gear tomorrow, Wednesday, 21 November. Those Aussies with money in a Steam Wallet will find its been converted into $AUD automatically.

In terms of games themselves, we’ve learned that Valve has told developers and publishers that they’ll need to update their titles with Aussie pricing behind-the-scenes in order to have games appear in its new, Aussie-centric store. If you log into Steam tomorrow and see that a bunch of games aren’t in the shop, that’s likely why.

Valve has said to expect the change around 10.00am AEDT — just in time for the Steam Autumn Sale.
