Assassin’s Creed Shadows delayed to February 2025, also coming to Steam

All the rumours were true...

Assassin’s Creed Shadows has been delayed to February 2025, Ubisoft has today confirmed after pulling out of Tokyo Game Show.

“We’ve made the decision to postpone the release date to February 14, 2025,” Ubisoft’s Marc-Alexis Cote wrote in a post on Twitter. “The game will release on a broad range of platforms, including Steam at launch. Additionally, preorders will be refunded and all future preorders will be granted the first expansion for free.”

Ubisoft has used a trading update to detail the reasoning for the delay.

“While the game is feature complete, the learnings from the Star Wars Outlaws release led us to provide additional time to further polish the title,” the update reads. “This will enable the biggest entry in the franchise to fully deliver on its ambition, notably by fulfilling the promise of our dual protagonist  adventure, with Naoe and Yasuke bringing two very different gameplay styles.”

Moreover, Ubisoft confirmed that Shadows will do away with its notorious Season Pass system.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows is now scheduled for a 14 February 2025 release on Windows PC via Steam, Ubisoft Connect, and Epic Games Store alongside Mac, Amazon Luna, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, and PS5.
