Assassin’s Creed Mirage pays tribute to the original 2007 classic

Right down to a blue tinged filter.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage was today shown off at Ubisoft Forward and pays special homage to the 2007 classic that started the franchise.

“With development led by Ubisoft Bordeaux, Assassin’s Creed Mirage is an homage to the series, and a particularly special tribute to the first Assassin’s Creed,” Ubisoft said in a press release.

Shown in the image above is a special blue filter that’s meant to make proceedings like the 2007 classic; back in the day, that blue tinge meant to represent what the Animus was doing to Desmond Miles, placing him in the shoes of an ancestor. The filter, of course, is optional.

“Inviting players in a magnificent ninth-century Baghdad at the peak of its Golden Age, Assassin’s Creed Mirage offers a condensed, narrative-driven action-adventure experience with a modern take on the parkour, stealth, and assassinations gameplay elements that have defined the franchise for over fifteen years.”

Two new trailers were shown off at today’s Ubisoft Forward; both are below.

Expect Assassin’s Creed Mirage from 12 October on Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS4 and PS5.
