Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced confirmed by Ubisoft, no release date named

"Keep your spyglass on the horizon."

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced has been teased by Ubisoft, scattered amidst a host of other Assassin’s Creed updates from the publisher.

“Speculation around Assassin’s Creed is not new, but it’s worth repeating: ‘Nothing is true. Everything is permitted,'” said Assassin’s Creed’s new head of content, Jean Guesdon. “Well, except in this case, some whispers have a little more wind in their sails. Keep your spyglass on the horizon.”

Guesdon also served, coincidentally or not, as creative director on the original Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag.

Reports suggest that Ubisoft has dropped modern day segments from Black Flag Resynced, just like it’s dropped the from the game’s title. These reports have not yet been confirmed.

The update also provided tidbits from other upcoming Assassin’s Creed titles; Guesdon described Codename Hexe as “a unique, darker, narrative-driven Assassin’s Creed experience, set during a pivotal moment in history” — and also stated that Hexe is a ways out.

We’ll have more on Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced as it becomes available.
