Arklay is a TV series based on the Resident Evil franchise

Bloody Disgusting today reports that a new television series based on the Resident Evil franchise called Arklay is coming.

As fans would know, the first Resident Evil game took place within a spooky mansion and several Umbrella labratories, all housed within the Arklay Mountains. Doomed town Raccoon City sat just outside the mountain range.

“When Detective James Reinhardt is thrust into a series of bizarre homicides, he unravels the city is hiding a dark conspiracy. Learning a fatal virus is connected to it all, Reinhardt discovers it’s already coursing through him. With time no longer on his side, he must solve the conspiracy to save his own life,” reads the show’s official pitch.

The pitch reel above, using footage from televisions shows Hannibal and more, was produced to show what the tone of Arklay would be like.

Mance Media is reported as being behind the Gotham-style television show, and Shawn Christopher Lebert is said to sit at the show’s helm.

Resident Evil re-remake is scheduled for 2015. Perfect timing, eh?
