Apple policy update should make Xbox game streaming easier

Xbox Game Pass can be a fully-fleged app.

An Apple policy update has paved the way to make Xbox game streaming easier on your iPhone or iPad.

Previously, those who wanted to use Xbox game streaming on such a device would have to do so via browser, as opposed to the Xbox Game Pass app on Android. Now, the policy change means there should be parity between smartphones.

“Today, Apple is introducing new options for how apps globally can deliver in-app experiences to users, including streaming games and mini-programs,” Apple wrote in a developer update.

“Developers can now submit a single app with the capability to stream all of the games offered in their catalogue.”

The policy change also means that Nvidia’s GeoForce Now streaming service could allow for streaming directly through an app.
